Shenzhen Guowei Electronics Co Ltd (SGW Global) was founded in 1981 in China as a manufacturer of Telecoms equipment. Back then, DECT was originally known as Digital European Cordless Telecommunications, but the DECT Forum changed its name to Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications to enable widespread global adoption as the de- facto wireless voice communications standard for home and office.
SGW Global has always been at the forefront of the DECT industry and prides itself as one of the most innovative.
Bragging rights include the first colour screen cordless phone, the first mass deployed cordless phone based upon SIP technology, the first cordless telephone capable of SMS and the first capable of MMS. Our Outdoor Long Range cordless phone features IP67 waterproofing, inductive charging and an impressive 1 km range between base and handset.
Awards have been won including the Business Design Award, the IF award for the ground breaking Colombo cordless telephone and most recently the Red Dot and DECT Forum awards for the Design of the super slim IT6 cordless telephone for Motorola as
well as being nominated for the Good Design Australia award, again for the super slim IT6.
As active members of the ULE Alliance, SGW has continued to push the boundaries of the technology.
Shipments have already taken place of our complete Video Door Entry System for the Japanese brand ELPA featuring ULE together with solar panel charging for the external
door bell and DECT for the video streaming and voice.
2015 will see the launch of a Home Control box featuring ULE and a commercially available CE approved DECT ULE module for third party developers as we move into the Internet of Things.
